As I walk the isles at the gift shows I know if something will work or not. I am attracted by beautifully designed booths and artfully arranged items. I tend to shun the booths displaying what is trendy at the moment and look for different things.
That is how I found Louis Sherry Truffles. I almost walked right by their booth. But wait, I noticed the gorgeous colors of their tins. THAT made me stop. I didn't know what those tins contained but I wanted to find out. As I got closer I realized they housed truffles and they had samples! Of course I had to try one. Yummy! Now they had my full attention.
SO far they meet the criteria - they are elegantly beautiful with gorgeous colors and taste amazing. Can a tin of truffles be inspirational? Once I found out their story, how they have been around for over 100 years and that these tins were designed in 1919 as a gift for steamship passengers, well that did it. I had to place an order. Just think, these are a little bit of history.
Little did I know that when I put them out in my boutique, that they would inspire some wonderful memories! Customers exclaim that they remember these tins and truffles. Their Mom and Grandmother had them! They remember seeing them. One customer said her Mom kept her sewing supplies in the tin. Seeing them brought smiles and wonderful memories. I love that!
