Sunflowers & Morning Glories

Are you are gardener?  Or do you just love flowers and gardens but are not too into the gardening aspect of it all? Preferring to enjoy looking and appreciating the beauty?  I have to admit that I love everything, well almost everything, about gardening - the choosing of my flowers, planning just where to put them, getting my hands dirty, the feel of the dirt, the daily maintenance of wedding and watering - the only thing I really don't love is the cleanup that is needed after the long winter.  Thankfully the husby does that for me!

I have to say that there is a lot of thought and planning that goes into my gardens. What colors will look good here, what flowers will do best there.  BUT, sometimes things don't go as planned!  Nature has a way of doing it's own thing and all my little plans are not even taken into consideration when Nature is in control.

There is one area of my gardens, right along the sunporch, that we hang bird feeders.  There are two.  I asked my husby (he is in charge of the bird feeders :)) to stop filling the one over my gardens. The bird droppings were interfering with the growth of some of my plants and messing with my carefully planned garden. Problem solved!

But Nature had it's own plans!  Look at what planted itself from the birdseed that fell to the ground.  Gorgeous sunflowers & beautiful morning glories!  I love the blue of the morning glories.  If you look closely at the first sunflower picture you will see a bee just doing it's thing.

And there is this plant. Really pretty yellow flowers but with lots of thorns.  I don't know what it is - do you? But it adds it's own loveliness to my garden!
When all of these flowers started to grow I was tempted to pull them out. But, something made me reconsider. I am so glad!  Look at what I would have missed.
I love the lesson this has taught me - Sometimes we work so hard to make everything perfect. That's me, Miss Let's Make Everything Perfect!  Then I turn around and Nature does it for me!
Here's to enjoying the flowers!
