Well it's been a while but my grandchildren's room is almost finished! I have framed the "name pictures" that I showed you in my previous post and their half of the room is complete. The other half which is my creative space still needs work so I am sorry but you can't see it just yet.
So, the inspiration came from a visit to Ikea. I was looking for bedding for their cribs that wasn't baby inspired. I wanted the look to be soft and non-gender specific. As my husband and I were wondering around I found the perfect solution - the grey and white squiggle pattern that you will see the in pictures. I already knew that I wanted to paint the walls a robin's egg blue. Grey and white would look perfect with the wall color! I have mixed a few other colors in there too - a creamy white and a very soft taupe. (But more on that in a later post where I will show you what the room looked like before - ugly is the only way to explain it.) From there everything fell into place! I found the perfect curtains and bins to use to hold their diapers, wipes and other baby things. The cribs are not a perfect match. I already had one - their older brothers' - and had to find another. If it was the same that would be great but it wasn't necessary it just had to be white.
I now love walking into this room! I'd love to know what you think....
If you remember I also made a name picture for my other grandson - I haven't forgotten! I will show you in my next post.
Here's to being creative!
