I just had to save this quote. It showed up on my Facebook page yesterday. You know how sometimes certain wording resonates with you?
Well these words struck a cord with me. These particular words - "Take pictures of everything."
My Mom is, among other things, a photographer, She has even won awards for her photography. So naturally she was always taking pictures. Every event, every milestone, every little thing we were doing, there she was posing us and saying "smile". Not only were they pictures of us, but pictures of everything that caught her interest. I can remember her stopping the car to take pictures. As I reached my teens I really did not want to pose for pictures. Even in my twenties I never really took pictures.
Then my life changed. (that's another story) and I started to realize how important those pictures were that my Mom had taken. And I started taking pictures too. Of family, celebrations, friends, things that caught my fancy. Now, I am the annoying one saying "let's get a picture".
I guess my Mom had it right. Memories are one of the most important things and documenting them keeps them alive. They tell our stories! So go ahead, "take pictures of everything"!
